Health Insurance Decree
Verordnung des Reichspräsidenten über Krankenversicherung
Decree of the Reich President on Health Insurance
An emergency decree issued four days before the Reichstag election and first announced on the radio on the evening it was signed. It cut the fee an insured person paid for a health-insurance sick note to 25 pfennigs, half the previous charge, payable once per illness, and applied the fee rules to family assistance. It also extended state supervision of the sickness funds to the expediency and economy of their management, and empowered the Reich Government to issue regulations making health insurance cheaper and simpler.
